SmartClass provides school information, communication, finance, learning, and operations tools to educational institutions. The institution using SmartClass is usually responsible for deciding what data is entered and how it is used for school operations.
SmartClass processes platform data to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the service.
Information we process
The platform may include account details, student and guardian records, personnel records, class and attendance data, communications, documents, payment and invoice records, support requests, device information, logs, and cookie or similar browser data.
When you report a post or comment, SmartClass processes the reported content, the reason and details you submit, your account identifier, and the moderation decision so headquarters moderators can review and respond to the report.
The exact data available in a tenant depends on the modules enabled by that institution and the information submitted by authorized users.
How information is used
We use information to operate SmartClass, authenticate users, support school workflows, deliver communications, provide customer support, protect accounts, troubleshoot issues, comply with legal obligations, and improve reliability and performance.
Reports are reviewed by SmartClass headquarters administrators and may result in content removal or account suspension. A limited local text filter checks post and comment text; it does not scan attached media and does not send content to a third-party filtering service.
We do not sell tenant data.
Sharing and service providers
Information may be shared with the school or organization that manages the tenant, authorized users inside that tenant, and vendors that help provide infrastructure, email, SMS, payment, storage, analytics, security, and support services.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the platform, or to respond to valid legal requests.
Security and retention
SmartClass uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect platform data. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Data is retained according to platform needs, tenant configuration, school instructions, legal requirements, and backup or audit obligations.
